UltraTech Ultra-X-Tex is a new and unique lipophilic ("oil attracting") media with a multitude of potential environmental applications. Ultra-X-Tex utilizes state-of-the-art technology to blend and process its recycled synthetic fibers into a lightweight fiber mass. This mass has an enormous surface area and interstitial spaces which create a high performance sorbent and filter media.
UltraTech Ultra-X-Tex is very efficient as removing hydrocarbons from water and excels as a spill removal media as it is capable of sorbing liquis hydrocarbons, including petroleum, animal and vegetable oils. Ultra-X-Tex is also very cost effective - it absorbs an average of 20 times its own weight of liquid hydrocarbons. Additionally, approximately 85-90% of sorbed oils can be reclaimed from Ultra-X-Tex and the media reused.
